Dear Sisters and Brothers,
Malcom Muggeridge wrote of “the great moral fallacy of our time—that collective virtue may be pursued without reference to personal behavior.” We think that the “moral decay of America” is a matter of better or tougher laws, better policing of the immoral media, or something that is somewhere other than in our hearts. Yes, Muggeridge reminds us that virtue begins at home, in a transformation of our hearts, before it becomes a transformation of the society at large. (Malcom Muggeridge, “Chronicles of Wasted Time, Chronicle 1: The Green Stick, 1982, p177.)
See Mark 10:17-31 for further reflection.
Prayers: That Christ might enter the places of heart where greed exists and multiply our generosity.
Still in one peace,
Pastor David J. Jensen
