Jesus' Mercy Changes Me, We and the World

The Toil

Dear New Year People,

“Whether these are the worst of times or the best of times, they are the only times we have.” Art Buchwald

We have good times and bad in this life. We are invited by a gracious God to live each day and to work, not seeking results, but rather enjoying the process of the toil. Only God knows where all this leads or what it finally adds up to. We don’t have to keep anxiously asking ourselves what lasts, what endures. Only God can make our labors mean something important and eternal . We can keep working, and enjoying our labors for the time being , confident in the goodness of God to make the times of our lives mean more than we can ever make them mean.

Lord , we give you thanks for the year past, for all our joys and sorrows, for all the good times and the bad. Bless us in the beginning of this new year. Guide us in your way, give us vision to see the opportunities for service that you give us, grant us the wisdom to use the time that we have to your praise and in your work. Amen

*Please offer special prayers for the words of our guest Preacher this weekend,  Mr. Jim Flanigan.*
