Jesus' Mercy Changes Me, We and the World

The Ends & Means

Micah 3:1-2 “Then I (Micah) said; “Listen you leaders of Jacob, you rulers of the house of Israel. Should you not know justice, you who hate good and love evil…”

Micah 3:5-7 “This is what the Lord says: As for the prophets who lead my people astray, if one feeds them they proclaim peace; if he does not, they prepare to wage war against him. Therefore, night will come over you, without visions, and darkness without divination. The sun will set for the prophets, and the day will go dark for them. The seers will be ashamed, and the diviners disgraced. They will all cover their faces because there is no answer from GOD.”

Micah lived in a time where there was much political upheaval and little social justice… imagine that!

“Should you not know justice, you who hate good and love evil?”

Micah, a prophet, was living in the world and he saw injustice and he spoke out. People, actually the leaders (priests and prophets) of his time, were saying they believed in GOD, but they were not following GOD’s word, will, or way… they were taking advantage of others to enrich themselves.

There is a saying, “The end justifies the means.” It is used for people to sin, that is to hurt others individually and corporately to get what their group wants at the expense of other groups generally those who are poor, widowed, orphaned, you know… the people Jesus loved and served.

It is not GOD’s word, will, or way!

If we, you and I, have to lie, or cheat, commit adultery, murder, or bully to get where we, you and I, want to be…

Then the truth is we, you and I, are liars, cheaters, thieves, murderers,  adulterers, and  bullies no matter where we end up.

Reverend Jackson says “GOD doesn’t co-sign wrong. GOD gives us, you and I, mercy and grace, but GOD doesn’t co-sign wrong!”

May you know you are a wonderful, loving, precious child of GOD! Know you are loved! And know the end does not justify the means as the means are in the end!

Love wins! Love wins without, lying, cheating, stealing, murdering, or bullying… Love just wins!

AMEN!
