We gathered to worship via the stream and remember Jesus’ words: “I am the vine, you are the branches…God prunes away…abide in me.” (John 15:1-8) It’s good news to know that Jesus is the vine and we are connected to him. It takes courage to be vulnerable to transform our understanding that God will prune away what we need to let go of and grow into new life. If you missed being with us, you can watch here. Sunday is Mother’s Day. We celebrate the moms, grandmas, aunts, sisters, cousins, teachers, coaches and mentors that have impacted our lives. Make any gift to the Ready to Bless fund here. Send us their names here. We’ll sing their praises by showing their names in worship on May 9.
We take our faith into the week. For your reflection and conversations:
- Read John 15:1-8. What stands out to you? What do you hear God saying to you? What are you going to do about it?
- Respond to this quote: “The pandemic scraped away all facades we’ve built around our lives.” Elena Cruz
- If the only way to get rid of fear is love, then where do you need love?
- What needs to be pruned and trimmed away from your life?
