We gathered for worship via the stream and considered Jesus’ words on forgiveness from Matthew 18:21-35. Jesus says it’s not about how many times we forgive (70 x 7?) but that we forgive in gratitude for the forgiveness we have received through him. If you weren’t able to be with us, you can watch here. See photos from worship here and from The Well here. And if you’d like to be reminded of Doris’ words of wisdom, watch her 3 minutes here.
Our faith is daily and we take the messages from worship into our week’s reflections and conversations.
- How do your rate yourself at forgiveness? Giving it and receiving it?
- Why do you think Jesus told Peter that 7 times isn’t enough to forgive, it’s 70 times 7? Is that possible? (See Matthew 18:21-35)
- What’s your reaction to this quote: “There is no love without forgiveness and there is no forgiveness without love.” Bryant H. McGill
- If forgiveness is a practice we need God’s help with, how will you ask God to help you with forgiveness?
