Jesus' Mercy Changes Me, We and the World

Sunday to Monday | Dysfunctional Families

We gathered for worship via the stream and God was present in each of our sacred places. Pastor Dave used the story from Genesis 25, the story of Isaac and Rebekah’s family and the challenges and dysfunction with twins Esau and Jacob. God works through the dysfunction in our families, through sibling rivalries, through scoundrels to bring about transformation in the world. And if God can do that, God can work through us! If you missed being with us, you can watch here. Check out photos from worship here and from the Extreme Community Makeover here.

This Wednesday, Rev. Dr. Larron Jackson joins us again at The Well our midweek shared spiritual time. It starts at 6:00 pm via Zoom. Get details here. Photos from last week’s The Well here.

We know we’re not done with our faith on Sundays. Here are resources and conversation/reflection starters for your week.

  • How have you seen God work through scoundrels?
  • What is your relationship with your siblings (either from your family of origin or created family)? How do those siblings bless or frustrate you?
  • Where does dysfunction get in the way of your relationships? How might you ask God to bring about redemption?
