It was a good morning to gather for worship via the stream, cool and fall-like. We looked at Matthew 21:23-32 where the religious leaders asked Jesus who did he think he was? (Where did he get the authority to teach in the temple,) and Philippians 2:1-13 where Paul lets us know how Jesus’ authority came from emptying himself in humble service and calls us to do the same. If you missed being with us you can watch here and check out some behind-the-scenes photos here.
We take our faith into the week, reflecting and talking about God is saying to us. Here are a few starters from this week’s Bible texts.
- How do you feel about the authority you have? Do you wish you had more? Less? Why?
- When do you give someone authority over your life?
- When have you have said “no” in the past, but now have come around and changed?
- How do we have the same mind as Christ Jesus? What does that look like in our lives? Meditate on Philippians 2:1-13.
