Jesus' Mercy Changes Me, We and the World

Speak, Lord

Last week at the Advance, Pastor Scott Seeke, shared the text from 1 Samuel 3:1-10 about the boy Samuel learning to listen to God. What a great scripture for us to use this Lenten season as we focus on listening. Samuel first thought that his mentor Eli was calling him, but found that it was God.

Sometimes it’s like that for us. God is speaking to us (through others, through scripture, through visions and dreams, through art, music and nature) and we either choose not to listen or we completely miss it.

I have hope because listening can be a practice, it is a skill we can get better at. Thank God! God help us to hear, really hear, and obey. Then we’ll know we are listening.

We’ll be looking for you tomorrow at 10:00 am for the livestream of worship. Come listen with us then and on Wednesday evenings at 6:30 pm via Zoom. Together we can practice our listening skills and trust that God is speaking.

Grace be with you, Vikki
