In the end we will conserve only what we love. We will love only what we understand. We will understand only what we are taught. ~ Baba Dioum, Seneglese Conservationist
In today’s Sabbath Moment Daily, Terry Hershey shared the following: Susanna Wesley’s immortal prayer, “Help me, Lord, to remember that religion is not to be confined to the church, or closet, nor exercised only in prayer and meditation but that everywhere I am in Thy presence.” Boy, that hit me! One of the many things I’ve learned from all of you and from my participation in GGCC the past 17 years is that church doesn’t just happen for an hour or so on Sunday mornings. While that is a good thing too, church (my religion, my faith journey, my relationship with God) is so much more than that!
So these next months are to be a time of transition…some may be unsettled by the mere thought of that. In a way I feel like that is what our lives already are, times of transition from one thing to the next.
I intend to spend more time reflecting on the many things I’ve learned from all of you and from our time together as God’s Grace Community Church. You are all a part of my tapestry, and hopefully I am a part of yours. Aren’t they just beautiful? And I think pleasing to our God.
