Today is known as Black Friday. We all have images of shoppers fighting, people lining up at 5 am and general craziness.
One day we’re celebrating Thanksgiving and being grateful for all we have and the next we’re focused solely on buying stuff.
We forget these words of Paul:
God loves you and has chosen you as his own special people. So be gentle, kind, humble, meek, and patient. Colossians 3:12 CEV
It’s okay. We get caught up. We just need to remember that we are chosen people. That we CAN be God’s special people. We can because God loves us. God loves us.

Sunday is the start of a new church year, the 4 weeks before Christmas that are the season of Advent. Advent is a time to practice waiting. Waiting to be reminded that God loves us. Not for what we buy, but for who we are.
