Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
Greeting in this Easter season in the name of the Risen Christ!
“Then Christ opened their minds to understand the scriptures.” Luke 24:45.
Psalm 4 asks the question, “how long”?
What are your “how longs”?
- The racial injustice we are witnessing?
- The covid pandemic?
- Issues of addiction?
- Economic challenges?
- A long lingering illness?
- The grief of losing another person?
How long Lord must I endure that which makes me, and others suffer?
Acts 3:15, has the term “…author of life...”
Who authors your story? The one who authors your story is the one who has authority over you? Are you in charge of your story, and maintaining your own authority? Or do you submit to Christ as the author and authority of your life’s story?
Luke 24:48 ,”…you are martyrs of these things...”
Some translations say witnesses, and others use the term martyr. David Barrett says, “Christians inevitably arouse hostility and pay the price of martyrdom.” Have you “aroused any hostility” in the name of Jesus? Why or why not? Have you paid a price for your Christian faith?
Prayers: For Christian martyrs.
Tonight at 6:30 pm MDT the Zoom gathering, The Well, we will dive deeper into exploring these passages of scripture and questions. We hope to see you there. If you are not on the invite list for The Well let Vikki Luce email@example.com know.
Still in one peace,
Pastor David J Jensen
