Jesus' Mercy Changes Me, We and the World

God Did It Again…

I know I have said it before, but I REALLY LOVE how God just shows up sometimes.  Wednesday morning as I was looking through my Facebook feed, I noticed a friend posted a general comment to her news feed:

“Romans 12.  A perfect time to read this scripture.  Have a wonderful day everyone!!!”

I am blessed and thankful that I happened to see her post yesterday.  So many of the verses spoke to me that it was hard to narrow it down.  I love how it talks about conforming in verse 2.  I love how it talks about our gifts and encouraging others in verses 3-8.  I love how it talks about love and clinging to what is good in verse 9.  I love verse 16 telling us to live in harmony with one another.  I love verse 21 “Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.”

A few weeks ago, I was having a day just wondering where all the good was in this world.  Again, I love how God and the universe knows us and is listening to us even when we do not think they are.  As I was reflecting on this, I realized that not only did I need to find the “good people”, I needed to find the “good IN people”, including myself.  What a beautiful and blessed reminder!!

Again, I am blessed that this gentle reminder randomly appeared when it did.  I would encourage you to read it for yourself as it is not very long.  How does it speak to you? Romans 12 NIV

Dear God, Thank you for always showing up and showing off.  Thank you for the gift of friends, family and acquaintances and the random things that bring us together.  Lord, in a time when our world is broken by so many things, please help us to remember that while we are all different, we all form one body through You.  May we embrace our differences and our different gifts so that we may be the best that we can be.  May we find the good in ourselves and the good in others.  In Your name we pray.  Amen.
