Jesus' Mercy Changes Me, We and the World

Every Day

God is thankful for each and every one of us each and every day, but are we thankful for Him each and every day?

Each year, on Thanksgiving, we take one day to think about what we are thankful for. We celebrate all the good in our lives and all the things we have to be thankful for, whether that’s our jobs, friends, family, or just the fact that we got through another year with COVID influencing everything.

However, the next day is Black Friday where we practically kill each other to buy things on sale.

There are definitely positives about Black Friday. Some families need the deals to be able to afford even one Christmas present for their children. But much of the time we are just buying things for ourselves.

So, are we truly thankful for all God has provided for us? Or do we constantly try to add material things to fill a void in our life that only God can fill?

God is there for us and thankful for us every day and we should be thankful for God every day. He has made us stronger than we were the year before and He has helped us get to where we are in our life.

I am thankful for my family, my friends, my church, and for God. Paraphrasing Reverend Leon Kelly, God gives us tests so that we may have a testament and I am extremely thankful for the tests God has put me through to make me who I am today.

Each day, try to find one thing to be thankful for, not just on Thanksgiving, but throughout the year. It may help you have a more positive perspective when life is not going the way you think it should be going and it may help you grow closer to God and appreciate all he does for you daily.

Hebrews 13:5 “Keep your lives free from the love of money, and be content with what you have; for he has said, ‘I will never leave you or forsake you.’”

Dear God,

Thank you.

Amen.
