Where has the time gone? How could it be time for Thanksgiving already? Of course, after the last 18 or so months, time has seemed unmeasurable.
But really, how do we measure time? By the number of engagements on our calendar? By the passing birthdays? By the rising of the sun? Time goes slow when we’re young and fast as we age. What does time mean in our lives?
We talk about how God’s timing is different than ours. And yet, the scriptures remind us:
Be cheerful no matter what; pray all the time; thank God no matter what happens. This is the way God wants you who belong to Christ Jesus to live. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
Time may be unmeasurable, but we are to fill our time rejoicing, praying and thanking God. And I suppose that when we do this, time won’t matter. No matter what happens.
Thanksgiving reminds us of how we are to live. Not just one day a year, but every day.
This Sunday we welcome our dear friend Rev Kelly to worship. Please join us at RCHS at 10:00 am MST for worship and pizza afterward; or via the stream. We’ll also kick off plans for the annual Open Door Christmas Party. See you there!
Grace be with you,
